Resumen

Asia is greying. In some parts of Asia, this is occurring at an alarmingly rapid rate. Within a few decades, these countries will have the same proportion of old people in their midst as many developed countries have attained over the 150 years or more. While some Asian countries have become rich before they have become old, others will become old before they become rich. The economic, social and political consequences of rapid ageing in these countries is a matter of concern for all. This book examines the causes and consequences of rapid ageing in Asian countries, using the case of Singapore to illustrate many of the issues involved.
