Consumer Sales Law expounds the law and practice relating to the English domestic (as opposed to international) supply of goods. The law is an amalgamation of civil and criminal law rules, both domestic and EC, and is examined here both in context and in theory. The book covers sales for cash or credit, as well as leasing, HP and financing (eg, payment cards, consumer protection and product liability). A multitude of changes have occurred in consumer sales law in recent years. The methods of financing consumer supplies of goods have been simplified, whilst the divergence in legal treatment of domestic and international sales continues piecemeal. Parliament has begun the process of amending the basic code, the Sale of Goods Act 1979, by discrete pieces of legislation and our membership of the European Union impacts on regulation of the field. Macleod makes generous use of cross- referencing to guide the reader through this complex area of law.
