Uno developed his ideas in Japanese and is consequently little known in the West. To those who have studied Uno's contribution to Marxist political economy, Uno's work is widely considered very important. Uno's idea began propagating among a small intelligentsia in Canada through a professor Sekine who had studied in Japan. Kozo Uno of Japan developed a unique approach to Political Economy. This was strengthened by Tom Sekine in Canada at York University.
